Johan was a large presence ..in more ways than one ... for the North offense.  He scored a goal in the first varsity game played at the rink named for his grandfather. He is the younger brother of Aslan Akervik and the son of former Memorial and Badger star Andy Akervik. He is the grandson of Wally Akervik, who coached at UW-Superior and UW-Eau Claire and was the first rink manager at the Hobbs Municipal Ice Center.
